Responsible Gambling

Probabilities are not permission. What we will not do, and what we cannot do for you.

A probability is not permission

Everything on this site is an estimate of how often something happens. It is easy to read “our model says 68%” as a green light, so it is worth being blunt about what that number contains: at 68%, roughly one time in three you lose. Across a season those thirds arrive in clumps rather than politely spaced out: at that probability a run of five straight losers turns up about once in every few hundred bets, so hitting one is not evidence that anything is broken.

The same goes for the part of the site people find most persuasive. A value bet is a claim that a price is wrong, not that a result is likely. A selection with a big edge and a 25% probability is expected to lose three times out of four, and it is still the best-priced thing on the page. If a number here ever makes a bet feel safe, the number has been misread.

18+, and higher where the law says so

This site carries gambling-related content and is for adults only: 18, or older where the legal age where you are is higher. If you are under that age, none of the betting links here are for you, and the predictions are not going to be interesting enough to make up for it.

When it has stopped being entertainment

Not a diagnosis — a short list of the things people tend to notice last.

  • Betting to win back what you lost, rather than because you liked the price.
  • Stakes rising because the last few were losers, not because the edge got bigger.
  • Money in play that was meant for something else.
  • Hiding the size or frequency of it from people close to you.
  • Not being able to stop for a week without it taking effort.
  • Relief rather than enjoyment when a bet lands.

If any of that is familiar, BeGambleAware offers free, confidential advice and can point you to support. Help services are organised nationally, and we are not going to list a helpline for a country you may not be in — search for the gambling support service in your own country, and treat the first state-funded or charity-run result as a better starting point than the first advertisement.

What we can do, and what we cannot

We cannot limit anything for you. There is no account on this site, no deposit, no balance and no way for us to block, pause or exclude anything. The tools that genuinely work — deposit limits, loss limits, time-outs, self-exclusion — live inside the account of whoever is holding your money, and national self-exclusion schemes exist in a number of countries; both are outside our reach entirely.

What we can do is not lie to you about the odds. Concretely, and checkable on the pages:

  • We publish probabilities rather than picks, so a claim here can be scored against what actually happened.
  • We publish the misses. The backtest on the accuracy page counts the fixtures it got wrong and names the league where our calibration failed our own tolerance.
  • We do not run “guaranteed”, “sure win” or “zero risk” copy, and we explain on that same page why such a claim cannot be true.
  • The betting button is withheld on any fixture row where our own model says the price is worse than our probability. It is the one place where being honest costs us clicks, which is how you can tell we mean it.

If gambling has stopped being fun, the useful next step is not a better model. It is a conversation with someone whose job that is.
